Staff at Technician Support Service will aim to make your next event a complete and trouble-free success. If you require more than simply a loan of equipment, TSS can provide a comprehensive events package. We have available a wide range of modern equipment enabling us to cater for many different types of presentations and venues. With many years of event management experience, TSS are equipped to provide you with technical and logistical support. Our highly experienced staff will set up and operate the equipment and remain on site throughout to ensure your presentation runs smoothly.
A telephone call to TSS will put you in contact with a member of staff who can help to interpret your requirements and tailor a package to suit your individual event. Establishments should complete a Presentational Events booking form (available to download from the top of the page) and return it to TSS either by email, fax or post. Assistance in completing this form is available from TSS if required.
Some examples of our events services are:
· Public Address (PA) / Audio set-up (e.g. school shows, assemblies)
· Large screen video and data projection (e.g. corporate events)
· Event Filming (your event can be filmed, edited, and produced in DVD format)
This service is free of charge to all Glasgow City Council educational establishments, provided the event is held during normal working hours.
Please note that any overtime costs incurred would have to be met by the establishment concerned.
The Presentational Events Service offered by TSS is available to the Education Improvement Service (EdIS) and GCC Education directorate, providing audio and/or video support for corporate events and functions, and to assist in the production of DVD learning packages.
TSS can also provide audio/visual support to educational establishments who are hosting a special occasion (e.g. centenary celebrations, visiting dignitaries), but due to staffing commitments we are unable to provide personnel to film, for example, school shows.
To alleviate this, schools can request through our loans catalogue, the use of a video camera, sound system, LCD projector, etc. If required, a demonstration can be provided by our technicians on the use and assembly of this equipment.
DVD Editing, Production and Copying
If you have filmed an event, and you require your footage to be edited and copied to DVD, we can offer the use of our editing suite where your editing requirements can be discussed and carried out by our technicians. This service is only available depending on other scheduled work.
We have two fully equipped editing suites at TSS utilising the latest hardware and software, enabling us to carry out processes such as inserting backing tracks, titles, credits, and graphics or stills from other sources. If required, you can also record a commentary track or voice over using our state of the art sound booth.
It should be borne in mind that the editing process is very time consuming, with a 15-20 minute DVD taking upwards of 10 hours to produce. This production process will require an input from the persons commissioning the work.
When the editing process is completed we can also produce professional labels for your DVD case and disk, using direct DVD printing techniques. TSS will produce and deliver up to a maximum of 100 copies of your completed DVD with a charge of £2.50 for each completed disk, label and case.
